Saturday Morning At Gardner Village

We decided to go out to Gardner Village in West Jordan this morning and check out their farmer's market that will be going on every saturday until October. Gardner Village is an old flour mill built in 1853 and then moved and a larger one build on the same site in 1877 which still stands today. In 1980 a woman had a vision. Isn't that always the way. Anyhow she wanted to have a country store with furniture in the mill and a village of old cabins, which were brought in, as shops. As the story goes I think people thought she was crazy and that it was too much of an under taking but she disagreed. Over the years she has added more buildings and has many different events thru out the year coinciding with the seasons.

Tons of tomatoes and peaches and of course we bought some.

The food everywhere smelled so good.

Hmmmm, Thanksgiving is not to far away, nice bird.

All set up for the Midnight Madness Beach Party tonight.

Tagge's corn, so good.

The bakery has great sandwiches, not to mention the mini eclairs.

That about says it all, me and my better half.

Midnight Madness beach party tonight.

She also opened the popular Archibald's Restaurant in the mill in 1990.

The water wheel fueled the mill with water from the Jordan River.

A river runs though out the property.

Make your own jump rope, proceeds go to charity.
You can't tell by the picture but these are huge.
