January, not my favorite month, Except.....

January is really not my favorite month, except, my grandson Nick was born in January, so gotta love it. After the joy of the Christmas holidays, which were especially sweet this year because we could be with our grandson which will not be the case for the next two years as he will be in Hawaii on his mission. I can't tell you how proud we are of him giving up two years of his life to serve others, not always an easy task for a 19 year old young man.  I'll tell you that this will be the longest two years of my life.

Christmas 2012 (one of five guitars and a guitalele)
Nick and cousin Audrey. (Sorry about the action shot but I thought they looked so cute)
Pina Colada Cupcakes and Chocolate Cherry Cake made by yours truly
Farewell and Happy Birthday
Going into the Missionary Training Center for three weeks before flying over to Hawaii.

(Did I mention, it's going to be a long two years)

Oh man - that food looks great. Nick is ready - he'll be a wonderful missionary and feel the support and love from home. You are an amazing Grandma - (even to your adopted grandkids). Keep the faith - we'll be with you during those long two years. xoxoxo
